Carol Strick: Egyptian Faience Broad Collars

Faience is the first synthetic fiber known to man, and it was a material used by the ancient Egyptians to create the broad or weskhet collars that were commonly worn by women and men. Noted fiber artist Carol Strick will talk about the history of this wearable art form, and her experience in designing and creating faience broad collars in her career with the Metropolitan Museum of Art.
