About this vehicle

This car, a 6.5 horsepower runabout, was originally sold to Sterling Elliott and it was his first car. The simple expansion type steam engine has two double acting, non-condensing cylinders geared directly to the rear axle. The kerosene fired vertical fire-tube boiler was mounted beneath the driver’s seat. It incorporated copper tubes and is reinforced with piano wire. This car could reach 80 mph!
