4 Week Class every Monday from January 3, through January 24, 2022 from 8:45am to 1:00pm
Learn to Paint Plein Air – Florida Through the Eyes of the Highwaymen
Join local artist, historian and Florida native, Chessy Ricca, in the great outdoors for an historical painting class where she will guide her students through painting steps and techniques of Florida’s beloved Highwaymen artists.
This event will naturally include social distancing. Students will choose their own painting spot in the beautiful Florida outdoors at the Halpatiokee Regional Park in Stuart, Florida
Please bring water, a chair, a hat, sunscreen, and whatever else you need in order to be comfortable in the Florida outdoors for four hours.

What Will You Learn?
The Highwaymen were masters at capturing Florida’s colorful lighting. You will paint with the colors, tools, techniques and lighting the artists used (and still do) beginning in the 1950’s.

Acrylic Paint
Paint Brushes
Travel Palette
Travel Easel
Travel Seat
Gloves (optional)
Jar for Water
Water for Brushes and Mixing
Spray Bottle to Keep Paint Moist
Small Canvas (8″x10″ or 9″x12″)
