The HSMC bids farewell to Linda Geary! When she first came to the HSMC in 2015, she was named the Historic Site Manager at the House of Refuge. In 2019, she became the Elliott Museum’s curator.
She is moving on now to work as an archaeologist at the Archaeological and Historical conservancy in Davie, Florida. She’ll be working on an archaic site that’s over 2000 years old in downtown Miami, on Brickell Avenue where the Miami River flows into Biscayne Bay.
Says Linda, “I enjoyed my time at both the House of Refuge and Elliott Museum. I am grateful for the opportunity to work with great staff and amazing volunteers and the freedom I was granted to design and create exhibits for the museum and work in the collections preserving Martin County’s past.”
We will certainly miss you, Linda, and wish you well in your new endeavor. Be sure to stop by every now and then to say hello!
