Home Grown Harmony
April 24 – June 1, 2026
Home Grown Harmony invites visitors into the changing soundscape of domestic life in Martin County, from parlor songs and hand-played instruments to music boxes, phonographs and early recorded sound. The exhibit follows the ways families once gathered to share music before it traveled through the airwaves. Along the way, it connects these objects to stories at the House of Refuge and to later figures such as Frances Langford and Vaughn Monroe. Filled with mechanical ingenuity, local memory and a strong sense of place, this exhibit offers a warm introduction to the East-Wing Local History Hall and the cultural world of Martin County
ALL EXHIBITS ARE INCLUDED WITH REGULAR ADMISSIONS
