On the Bicycle: Meditations and Innovations

On the Bicycle: Meditations and Innovations from the Ice Age to American Renaissance

This dynamic lecture explores the origins, cultural impact, and mechanical innovations of the bicycle. Inspired by examples from the Museum’s collection, Dr. Pappas offers a “crash course” in how bicycles shaped the world around them, capturing the enthusiasm of early riders and innovators.

Dr. Pappas, an educator and volunteer at the Elliott since 2016, holds a doctorate in Education from Florida Atlantic University and has led educational programs. His published works have covered topics including school safety and international education.

Whether you’re a casual rider or a history buff, this is a journey you won’t want to miss!
