The First 30 Years: US Intelligence Imagery From Space
Join us for an in-depth discussion with Jerry Raimo, NRO contractor, on the origins and evolution of space-based intelligence reconnaissance from 1960 to 1990. This lecture will explore the decision to undertake satellite intelligence programs and the advancements in KeyHole satellites, from early film-return systems to modern electro-optical telescopes, first launched in 1976.
Recently declassified files from the National Reconnaissance Office (NRO) provide a unique look at the artifacts that shaped these groundbreaking programs.
