Friday, November 6, 2026 | 1:00 PM

Florida is full of fascinating archaeological discoveries, mysterious legends, and stories that seem almost too incredible to believe. But how do we separate genuine archaeological evidence from myths, hoaxes, and historical misconceptions?

Join Robbie Boggs, Public Archaeology Coordinator with the Florida Public Archaeology Network (FPAN), for an intriguing look at Florida’s archaeological past—and some of the fantastic stories that have shaped how we think about it. Discover what archaeology really is, how archaeologists investigate the past, and why it is just as important to understand what archaeology is not.

From questionable claims to captivating mysteries, this engaging presentation will challenge assumptions, spark curiosity, and reveal the importance of evidence in understanding Florida’s rich history.
