Letters & Lore
Thursday, June 24 | 5–7 PM
Elliott Museum | Members Only
Step back in time for an evening of stories, memories, and a little summer campfire nostalgia!
Join us for Letters & Lore, a special Member Mixer featuring a reading of Lucie’s letters bringing personal stories from the past to life through her own words.
Lucie Richards was the daughter of Capt. Thomas E. Richards, an early pioneer in the late 1800’s who founded Eden and created the pineapple industry in south Florida. Her family is part of the reason Jensen Beach exists today. Through Lucie’s letters we have a vivid, first-hand account of what pioneer life was like in our area.
Gather around as we explore the stories and memories captured in these letters, then settle in for an evening inspired by the good old-fashioned summer campfire.
And, of course, we’ll wrap things up with a little extra member fun, a membership raffle!
